Marketing Review - 1

    • I am also working on a teachers toolkit - that would enable them to communicate lessons more visually

    • I was invited!!

    • that is great
    • Tomorrow Proto.in is happening

    • teachers toolkit ...hmmm
    • I know I am in touch with Syed

    • Who are the speakers?

    • Naveen Tewari,
      Founder, Inmobi

    • Satya Prabhakar, Founder, Sulekha.com
    • These are the people i know. others are new to me

    • Ok .I know Satya well personally

    • keep me posted with the resources. and any contacts on the education curriculum side - inducing creativity - tools of teachers etc.,
    • Will send you a write up of the idea soon for your comments

    • Check Amir khans talk on ted.com
    • Also ken Robinsons talk.that should give you some ideas

    • k - TED ken robinson - talks inspired me to get in to this deeper

    • I am als meeting some educationists in Cerebrate

    • that would be great - connect them

    • Yes then you must read the 2 books that he has written

    • Keep in touch .I think we need not reinvent the wheel but just copy some of the ideas here and Indianise it a bit

    • yes - I will keep mailing you
    • bye

    • Ramesh have you heard of open culture ?

    • no
    • what does it mean

    • ok they have awesome educational courses and curriculam. Its run by a guy called Dan Coleman .I can connect you

    • I have heard about Dan Coleman

    • I think i can help you there. But will I also benefit?!!
    • they claim t have the best educational media on the web

    • yes - in the process of setting up a system. where more experts would be in.
    • the idea that i have is - in the past they were read/write - and some model explanations. then after media came in e-learnings lots of visuals and computers are in education.

    • Ok then count me in and in India anything Phoren is appreciated more and people are then interested to pay more

    • There is a cutoff now that all students are only seeing and understanding things in screens.

    • OK so what exactly do you have in mind

    • I am working on a model where the school lessons can be taught with physical models, that will be interactive

    • Upto what standard
    • Do you have a client?

    • from 3rd to 12th
    • Targeting schools

    • Ok thats K12 standard
    • Ok let me talk to Dan

    • that would be great
    • the ideas is to take communicate lessons visually as 3D representations - which the students can interact, observe, experiment, debate, roleplay etc.,

    • Sure Ramesh .I want to use my experience of meeting really awesome people here to benefit Chennai. So I am looking at various angles but to basically connect people

    • This is more of connecting the past (physical models) and the present( interactive media ) - for future education.
    • Hope i am able to communicate the idea to a certain level.
    • Working on some product demos - which should be ready by this month end.

    • Great ramesh i will keep in touch.i am sendinga mail to dan right away

    • ok thanks Eddy will keep in touch

    • Bye and take care

    • bye eddy

    • R u going to start with std 3?

    • yes first from 3 to 5th

    • Ok great .I will start my homwork

    • these being physical models - for one grade alone there would be about 10 lessons for subjects like sci, his, geo, mat - so it would be a kit of 30 to 40 products for a grade
    • so for 3rd to 12th - 10 x 30 - about 300 products

    • yes I know it is going to be a huge project and so who will fund it?

    • it is a laborious exercise - but am thinking it is worth while - since no one has tried before
    • initially bootstraping - then after proof of concept need to go in for next level. planning to work with a couple of schools to get the products right

    • yes i will get you many resources but my time should be taken care off.I am not a avaracious guy but I need to get something
    • Ok let me talk to some venture capitalists here

    • yes - we will do it
    • what do you think about the idea

    • I am sure you know that I am also working with Melinda gates on some projects?

    • no - in which area

    • Anything for education Ramesh incl bringing back the reading habit and inculcating art and craft in schools

    • that is great

    • Education again . Bill gates is funding a massibe amont to cahnge primary education in the US .See his ted talk of 2011

    • i have been hands on - a radical kid at school - i have never enjoyed the regular school curriculam - that is the base which made me to start thinking about this and working on.

    • Also have you heard of the Fisch Flip?

    • Awesome ramesh .I can also connect you with Madhuvanti Arun , Mrs YGP, Schools for India , Teach India and others

    • ok she has started a school now in our area only ekkaduthangal

    • Ok according to the Fisch he flipped the education system . Childeen are taught at home and they go to school to do the homework
    • Ok Madhu is a good friend
    • She is very forward thinking

    • You can talk to Rajendran who is changing education in schools in and around coimbatore .he was a TEDxChennai speaker
    • So lets wrk on this Ramesh

    • ok sure - give me your views on the idea
    • you find this exciitng
    • see a scope for this
    • I will put my thoughts more clearly as a document - we will work on this to make it big

    • checking the site - very interesting

    • Go thru that.this may even help you make the models
    • That Ramesh is onlt the tip of the ice berg
    • Prof.Fisch found that when kids learn and home and do the homework in school ,the teacher is able to spend more time with the student and the student also has the support of the his peers
    • One good way to reach out to the schools will be by introducing the TED talks in schools

    • yes
    • My office people are from down south - i tried showing the talks to them
    • they find it diffucult to follow
    • At that time was thinking that these great talks still has a barrier to reach down levels.
    • for school students - these talks should be more simplified - followed by an explanation

    • yes I agree
    • ramesh are you familiar with bio mimicry?

    • seen the talk on TED

    • yes .basically looking at nature to solve problems and get design ideas

    • yes

    • Do u get inspiration for your designs from nature?

    • yes - i develop a story a scenario around the product
    • and from that story - start getting inspiration and cues to develop products

    • great

    • Eddy, I am leaving for a meeting - will be back and catch you - will be in touch and we will work on this more.
